Welcome to ISKCON Vrindavan Website!

When Krishna descends to the material world, this same Vrindavan descends just as an entourage accompanies an important personage. Therefore devotees take shelter of the Vrindavan in India, for it is considered to be a replica of the original Vrindavan. (Caitanya-caritamrta Adi, Introduction).

Akshaya Tritiya (24th April)

On the day of Aksaya Tritiya in Vrindavan, all large Goswami Temple Deities are covered with chandan Paste and not a bit of cloth used to cover the deities in the afternoon. The festival is also celebrated in our ISKCON Vrindavan temple and it usually continues for 21 days with the Utsava Vigrahas covered in chandan. The Deities are covered completely with chandan (sandalwood paste), which provides the Lord relief from the scorching heat of summer in this month.

Srimati Radharani

Appearance day of Srimati Radha Rani is celebrated as Radha Ashtami throughout the world and especially in Vrindavan, Barsana and Radha Kunda, with full devotion and joy. Radha Ashtami is observed after 15 days of Janmashtami, which is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna. Srimati Radharani appeared in Barsana, suburb of Mathura and appeared as the daughter of Vrishabhanu and Kirti.

The holy place known as Mathura is spiritually superior to Vaikuntha, the transcendental world, because the Lord appeared there. Superior to Mathura-Puri is the transcendental forest of Vrindavan because of Krishna's rasa-lila pastimes. And superior to the forest of Vrindavan is Govardhana Hill, for it was raised by the divine hand of Sri Krishna and was the site of His various loving pastimes. And, above all, the superexcellent Sri Radha kunda stands supreme, for it is overflooded with the ambrosial nectarean prema of the Lord of Gokula, Sri Krishna. Where, then, is that intelligent Person who is unwilling to serve this divine Radha Kunda, which is situated at the foot of Govardhana Hill?

BBT house inauguration

On the auspicious occasion of Srila Madhvendra Puri's Disappareance, March 5th, 2012, ISKCON Vrindavan unveiled the "Bhaktivedanta Book Trust House" located between the Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Temple and Srila Prabhupada's House. The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) is the world's largest publisher of literature on Krishna consciousness and Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy. BBT was established in 1972 by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). The BBT House displays the books published by BBT in more than 55 international languages.

The inauguration of BBT House was performed in the morning after darshan arati of Their Lordships Sri Krishna Balaram and Srila Prabhupada’s Guru-puja. A procession with Srila Prabhupada's deity and hundreds of vaisnavas dancing in ecstasy approached the BBT House for the event. Many senior devotees and Srila Prabhupada's disciples attended the programme including Sri Manu Prabhu, Dinabandhu Prabhu, Bhubaneswar Prabhu, Panca Gauda Prabhu, Hunkar Prabhu, Jaya Sila Prabhu, Dadhibhaska Prabhu, Daivishakti mataji and many others.

His Grace Saranga Thakur Prabhu , Head of Vrindavan BBT Department, explains that Srila Prabhupada’s most significant contribution to this world is his books. BBT publications have won praise for their authority, depth and clarity from professors at colleges and universities worldwide like Harvard, Oxford, BHU, IIT, BITS, NIT, Cornell, Columbia, Syracuse, Oberlin, and Edinburgh. The BBT House will be the medium through which these books are displayed to millions of visitors who come to Sri Vrindavan dhama.
