Go-Puja Festival 2006

August 13, 2006  |  Category: News

On 22nd we had a nice Go-Puja festival. We had made a huge boundary wall and made a pandal for 1000 devotees to sit. The program started at 7.45 A.M. Small Deities of Krishna Balaram came in a procession with Harinam party to Bhaktivedanta Swami Goshala.

They toured the whole goshala to see their Cows and They got settled in the pandal. After that we had a small worship offered to mother Cow. Then we offered some bhoga to the Lord. We also made Govardhan by Cow Dung. Then we gave some gifts to all the workers who are working in Goshala. Then we gave gifts to the sponsors of the Go-puja festival. We had two sannyasis lecturing on the subject of Krishna and cows.

  • Gopal Krishna Goswami:

…. “Cows were not ready to take even a blade of grass without seeing Krishna”….

  • Bhakti Visrambha Madhav Maharaj:

He was quoting the Ujjvala Nilamani by Rupa Goswami, to show the depth of Sri Radhika’s mercy towards the Cows, “Seeing a calf with its mouth pierced by a sharp grass, Sri Radhika felt very unhappy. With tears in Her eyes Radhika immediately dressed the calf’s wound with red kunkuma (a mixture of saffron and turmeric) (Ujjvala Nilamani)

Then we had thanking ceremony and a wonderful feast was served to the assembled devotees. Devotees feed Laddus to the cows, gave donations, and took medicines and got benefited. We also had a nice ceremony on Srila Prabhupada Disappearance day.

H.H. Narmada Goswami Maharaj, who was working with BBT Bombay, left his body in an auspicious atmosphere with devotees, having saligram sila in his hand on 27th afternoon at 1:15 at Vrindavan. He was put into samadi on the same day in Bhaktivedanta Swami Goshala behind the VIHE (Vrindavan Institute of Higher Education). Next day we had glorification session where many senior devotees glorified for the service which he rendered in BBT sincerely and with dedication. He also was very simple, without expecting much personal help from anyone. He showed us how to live a life of dedication and at the end how to leave one’s body in Sri Vrindavan Dham. His last desire was that he should be put into Samadhi in Goshala. When he was leaving his body he took two deep breaths, saying the Lord’s name, ‘Krishna’ ‘Krishna’ and left his body. Many devotees were surrounding him doing kirtan.

Dr. Piyush Mishra B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic medicine and surgery) from Jaipur and a specialist in ‘Panchagavya’ (five products that were made from cow like the milk, yogurt, ghee, urine and dung), came here especially to do free consultation from 27th through 30th. Many devotees and also others consulted and got benefited much. He will give a seminar on 30th in which he discussed the importance of mother cow and on panchagavya treatment.

Dear donors,

we appreciate your help for the Cows on the auspicious day of Go-Puja Festival. I am sure that Lord Sri Krishna with Srimati Radharani will be very pleased by your kind contribution towards the maintenance of Their Cows. Whenever you come to Sri Vrindavan Dham, Please visit the Goshala and show your love to the Cows by directly serving them or helping in some way or the other.

Thank you very much once again.

Yours servant, Arulnath
