Gold leafing of the Deity altars and paraphernalia

July 23, 2009  |  Category: News

20090330_021_213x320With a view to make the wooden altars more attractive and effulgent, in the special wooden carvings in all the three deity altars gold plating was done. The process of gold plating on wood and marble surfaces is known as GOLD LEAFING. The gold foils are pasted on the surfaces. To protect the gold plated portions from any external wear and tear polyvinyl lamination is done. This lamination process will add to the life of the gold leafing.

Apart from deity wooden altars, deity altar doors - deities beds - swing - palanquins - were also gold leafed.
Gold leafing was also done to Srila Prabhupada Samadhi altar and to the doors of the altar.
The gold leafing was very well appreciated by the residents, community as well as the visiting devotees and other visitors. The whole altar is looking more effulgent adding to the attraction of our deities.
Krishna Balaram mandir management is very much thankful to Sri Vrindavan Das Prabhu and his good wife for generously sponsoring the entire cost including the labour charges. We all pray to Their Lordships to shower them unlimited blessings and award them pure devotional service.
