
Like every year the appearance day of Srimati Radharani was celebrated very enthusiastically by Her devotees. In our Gaudiya vaisnava sampradaya She is even given more importance than Sri Krishna, although He is Svayam Bhagavan, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of everything.
The temple was beautifully decorated with flowers brought from distant places. At 7.30am, the main darshantime, the deities were offered a new gorgeous dress. (more…)
Today the appearance day of Sri Krishna was celebrated in a very grand manner. Thousands and thousands of devotees and pilgrims visited from all over India. On 13th overnight, Deity altars, the temple, Srila Prabhupada Samadhi, all were decorated very nicely with various types of flowers brought from Delhi. 14th morning the temple was opened for devotees all were stuck with awe. After Mangala Arati at Srila Prabhupada Samadhi, the temple Mangala Arati at 4:30, Deities gave darshan on a new outfit sponsored by H.G.Vir Krsna prabhu. Balarama Purnima Mahotsava, appearance day of Lord Shri Balram, was celebrated on the 5th August in a very grand manner.Deity altars,the temple hall, the courtyard, Srila Prabhupada Samadhi and all around the temple premises were beautifully decorated with varieties of flowers and green leaves. Both for Mangal Arti and for Darshan arti, new outfits were offered to all the deities sponsored by a devotee ( who would not like her name to be mentioned). One of the most popular events in the holy town of Vrindavan, India - where Lord Krishna appeared 5,000 years ago - is the celebration of Jhulan Yatra, the Radha-Krishna swing festival. Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Mandir was packed with thousands of people from surrounding towns and villages who came to see this auspicious festival in the sacred month of Shravana (July-Aug) over a period of four consecutive days i.e. from the 1st August to 4th August. With a view to make the wooden altars more attractive and effulgent, in the special wooden carvings in all the three deity altars gold plating was done. The process of gold plating on wood and marble surfaces is known as GOLD LEAFING. The gold foils are pasted on the surfaces. To protect the gold plated portions from any external wear and tear polyvinyl lamination is done. This lamination process will add to the life of the gold leafing.
