Perfect Vrindavan meditation

As Their personal servant, you will first arrange to wake Their Lordships and offer Them mangala arati and kirtan. You will then help with Their bathing and dressing. After darshan They will enjoy the morning bhog offering, Their day will progress blissfully with Raj Bhog arati, afternoon offering, two evening offerings and aratis. At night you will lovingly put Their Lordships to rest. You will also arrange prasadam for all of the devotees in the temple, make sure the temple is clean, see that the Life Members and special guests receive prasadam, and feed the general public prasadam in the morning and evening at the front of the temple. At the Goshala you will be feeding nearly 300 cows, calves and bulls. You will also see to the entire service for Srila Prabhupada in his home and samadhi.

This is the perfect meditation, and this becomes your reality when you become one of Krishna and Balaram’s personal servants in Vrindavan. It is the beginning of your eternal residence in the dhama, where you will continue to serve Their Lordships blissfully without cessation or interruption.

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura prays for the day when his offences will cease and he will be able to relish the nectar of Sri Krishna’s holy name. He begs, “Please give me unmotivated devotion to Your lotus feet, birth after birth.” That day of humble devotional service can now be yours in Vrindavan. Choose your day of uninterrupted loving service. Let there be an awakening of compassion in your heart for all the souls who are purified as they come for darshan to the temple. Twenty-four hour kirtan will drown them in ecstatic symptoms as they chant and dance in joy with the devotees. This is your day in Vrindavan.

The treasure of divine love in Vrindavan

Wherever you live in the world, you can meditate on your eternal service in Vrindavan on your special day. This is the process for returning back to home, back to Godhead. As Sri Krishna advises in the Bhagavad-gita, “Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend.” (Bg. 18.64)

The day of service you render in Vrindavan will be highly appreciated by the devotees. Along with the spiritual, internal reciprocation you will experience directly from the Supreme Lord, the devotees of the Krishna Balaram Temple also wish to express their appreciation for your selfless service. They have prepared special transcendental gifts and mahaprasadam for you. If you are in Vrindavan on the day of your service, your gifts will be delivered to you personally.

If you are unable to come to Vrindavan on that auspicious day, we will send your gifts to you by courier. Krishna finds it difficult to reciprocate the love of His pure devotees who are prepared to sacrifice so much in His service. But He never forgets the service you render. He becomes indebted to you, and the service itself will also become your source of satisfaction. But Krishna’s devotees will try their best to express their appreciation for your service. Along with gifts, your name will be engraved permanently on a plaque in the Krishna Balaram temple for your perpetual sponsorship of one day each year.

All of your prayers, all of your desires are fulfilled when you attain the privilege of devotional service in Vrindavan. Not every devotee is capable of performing the incredible task of supporting the entire temple for a day. Consider yourself specially blessed by Sri Krishna if He has given you such great facility to serve Him. Like offering a lamp to the sun, what can we offer to Bhagavan Sri Krishna? It is our love and devotion He accepts, however great or small the offering may be. But if you are blessed with the facility to offer such great service, please accept this privilege.

The beating heart of ISKCON

Srila Prabhupada called the Krishna Balaram Temple the ‘beating heart of ISKCON’. Vrindavan was so dear to Srila Prabhupada that he chose to remain here eternally in Samadhi at the front of the Krishna Balaram Temple. Such an important temple requires the attention of the entire community of ISKCON devotees. Vrindavan is a small town composed of pilgrims and several thousand residents. Maintenance of such a huge international project requires more help than can be collected locally.
